Orthopedic surgery provides care for problems of the musculoskeletalsystem. Disorders treated include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory or degenerative diseases, soft tissue injuries,fractures, infections, tumors, and sports injuries. Care is provided for conditions afflicting the bones and joints of the skeletal system including shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder including arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, fracture and soft tissue injury reconstruction, surgery of the hand and foot/ankle. This subspecialty is currently staffed by two board certified attending orthopedic surgeons, a nurse practitioner and two orthopedic surgery resident physicians from the affiliated University of Missouri Department Of Orthopedic Surgery. Consultation can be obtained by request of a Primary care provider, the emergency department or another subspecialty.
