The purpose of this class is to help Veterans more effectively manage pain in order to improve functioning and quality of life. The focus of the class is on learning about the physiology of chronic pain, shifting focus away from pain, reducing reliance on medical solutions for pain, exploring techniques to manage pain more effectively, and creating a self-management plan that allows the Veteran to maintain a full and active life.
