Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC)

The PRRC is a transitional, outpatient psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery center. Our ultimate goal is to help Veterans with serious mental illness such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder and severe depression develop improved quality of life and meaningful self-determined roles in the community. PRRC programming seeks to instill hope and reduce apathy, assist Veterans with defining a personal mission and vision for their lives, assist Veterans with setting goals and organizing their lives to achieve them, offer support to provide a "stepping stone" into the community, learn how to cope with the symptoms of mental illness, develop life skills and facilitate the development of natural community supports.

The core elements include:

  • Individualized assessment and recovery planning
  • Participation in the PRRC that is informed by a personal recovery plan and designed to meet personal recovery goals
  • Social skills training
  • Educational classes about mental health issues
  • Illness management and recovery classes
  • Health and wellness programming
  • Peer leadership and support services
  • Family educational programs (coming soon)
  • Evidence-supported psychotherapy groups that promote healing and recovery (i.e., Social Skills Training, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
  • Dual diagnosis services
  • Job Skills Training (coming soon)
  • Recreation Therapy (coming soon)
  • Community Integration Skills training classes (i.e., budgeting, how to obtain housing, practical life skills)
  • Individual psychotherapy
  • Case management.
