Veterans, Active Duty, National Guard and Reservists are invited to attend Truman VA’s 2013 Welcome Home Event at Fort Leonard Wood, Nutter Field House, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013.

Truman VA has partnered with Battlefront 2 Homefront, a local non-profit organization, to provide information and demonstrations of outdoor recreational activities for disabled and combat Veterans.  This year’s theme is: “Hunting, Fishing and Outdoor Adventures for Veterans and Soldiers.”

Dan Barnes encouraged Truman VA organizers to consider this year’s theme.  Dan, OIF Veteran, lost both of his legs in 2006 as a result of an RPG blast that occurred while conducting route clearance operations in Bagdad, Iraq.  Dan is an avid hunter and fisherman.  He works with numerous hunting and fishing organizations to utilize their adaptive equipment.  Dan will be joining us June 8 for our annual Welcome Home event.

This event will feature vendors from Missouri and surrounding states who provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreational activities for Veterans of all eras, active duty soldiers and, most specifically, our wounded warriors.

For more information, contact:

We look forward to seeing you on June 8.  Read more information for returning combat Veterans.
