When a Veteran arrives at the front door of Truman VA, volunteers now have the option of activating the Lobby Assist Team.  Veterans requiring assistance out of their vehicle or any type of transfer assistance within the entrance lobby, including restrooms, can receive help in a timely manner. 

Tara Walker, LPN organized and trained a group of Team Care staff to respond to calls to assist Veterans.  Two members of the Lobby Assist Team respond to pages Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. while also performing their Team Care duties.  During the six month trial period, the Lobby Assist Team made adjustments and hurdled obstacles to keep the goal of providing quality care to Veterans their top priority. 

The Lobby Assist Team ensures that all Veterans, including outpatients, are moved safely and promptly from the moment their car pulls up to the main entrance.
