Last week we told you a little bit about our Employee Ambassador Program, created to help folks find their way around Truman VA.  We are also pleased to announce we are piloting another program, New Patient Orientation.  This orientation will provide patients an overview of Truman VA services, tips for navigating the system and tools to take home.

During this two hour session, there will be brief presentations on the following topics:

  • Health Administration
  • Billing
  • Compensation & Pension
  • Pharmacy
  • Primary Care
  • Patient Safety
  • My HealtheVet

Our first orientation will be held on August 11 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Auditorium.  Space is limited, so we mailed personal invitations to new patients who enrolled during May and June.  We also have a second orientation scheduled for November 10. For those who cannot attend, they may view the New Patient Orientation Handbook on our website.

Our goal is to improve the health and well being of the Veterans we are honored to serve.  If you have ideas or suggestions on how we can improve this orientation session, please visit our facebook page and share your thoughts.
