Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital
New Clinic Open in Sedalia
On Wednesday, September 22, a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Sedalia VA clinic. The clinic first opened part-time in April and is now open full-time to provide care closer to home for veterans living in Pettis, Benton, Saline and Morgan counties.
Current staff members at the clinic include: one physician provider, one psychologist, one registered nurse, two licensed practical nurses and a medical support assistant. About 450 veterans now receive primary care and basic mental health services at the clinic and the goal is to serve 3,600. The clinic space will allow for additional providers as the demand for services increases.
Area veterans and their families are invited to visit the clinic on November 4 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Veterans interested in VA health care services are encouraged to bring their discharge papers (DD 214) to check eligibility for possible enrollment. Veterans that are already receiving VA health care are invited to learn about special programs such as the Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom program, Women Veterans program and MyHealtheVet web-based program.
The Sedalia clinic is located at 3320 West 10th Street in Sedalia, Mo. Truman VA also operates six other clinics around mid-Missouri.
