VA Secretary Eric Shinseki’s goal is clear - end homelessness among Veterans by 2015. Considered an ambitious plan by many, Truman VA is not deterred. Truman VA's Homeless program officials will unveil a local five-year plan at the 2011 Homeless Summit.
VA Secretary Eric Shinseki's goal is clear - end homelessness among Veterans by 2015. Considered an ambitious plan by many, Truman VA is not deterred. "Some goals may appear lofty, but the solution rests in the attempt to make the goals a reality," says Sarah Froese, Homeless Veterans Programs Supervisor.
Truman VA's Homeless program officials will unveil the specifics of their local five-year plan to end homelessness among Veterans at the 2011 Homeless Summit. The event will be held at the VA Vet Center, 4040 Rangeline Street, Suite 105, on Friday, October 21 from 2-4 pm. Sallie Houser-Hanfelder, Director, will speak at the summit.
A video featuring a formerly homeless female Veteran will be shown as well as a presentation on the services and programs provided to homeless Veterans. Truman VA will network with other agencies that provide services to homeless Veterans.
