It's tricky finding your way to a new place.  You find yourself wandering down the wrong halls and perhaps frustrated.  Truman VA is a big place and we are undergoing construction, which has caused some familiar places to move. In order to help, we started a new program to help escort and guide Veterans and visitors.  Perhaps you have noticed the folks with the blue shirts and orange "Ask me" buttons.  They are our Employee Ambassadors.

Have you met Julie?  Julie Heese works with the OEF/OIF Program and, for one hour every two weeks, she's on duty as an Employee Ambassador.  When you come in the door, do not be surprised if someone like Julie greets you with a smile or friendly hello and asks if you know where you are headed.  Perhaps it is your first visit and you have an appointment with primary care.  Maybe you want to meet one of the service officers or visit the blood draw.  If you do not know where you are headed, let us help get you to the right place.

The Employee Ambassador Program began in January 2011.  A total of 79 employees serve as ambassadors just like Julie.  If they are not escorting someone, you will find one stationed near the front entrance.  If you have interacted with one of our Ambassadors, we'd like to hear about it.  Visit our facebook page and share your thoughts.
