Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital
5th Annual VA2K Walk & Roll
The annual Walk and Roll of approximately 1.2 miles encourages people to step up their fitness level and to support homeless Veterans with donated food and clothing items.
Last year, more than 25,000 people participated at 172 VA locations, donating money and goods worth over $300,000 to help homeless Veterans.
The VA2K kicks off at Truman VA Hospital Emergency Room entrance at 10 am and will conclude at 2 pm. There is no need to register for this event.
Our theme this year is Hats off for Homeless Veterans! An award will be given for the most creative hat worn during the event. Our judges this year consist of 3 veterans who will start the judging at 12:30 pm.
If you wish to donate items, we are in need of toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap, multipurpose cleaner, razors (preferably multiple blade), bar soap, and deodorant. We have plenty of shampoo and conditioner, as well as toothbrushes and toothpaste, so those items are not needed.
