Behavioral Medicine and Neuropsychology Services

A specialized team within the Green Team that provides health psychology and neuropsychology services. Our mission is to assist patients with improving their general health and well-being through healthy lifestyle changes and coping with the psychological effects of medical conditions, treatments and/or injuries.

Health Psychology Services

Focus on working with Veterans to promote healthy behaviors, adjust to chronic illnesses, manage stress and reduce health risk factors such as smoking or overeating. Treatment may include stress management, relaxation training, adjustment to chronic medical conditions or illnesses, promotion of healthy lifestyle changes (exercise, smoking cessation, nutrition), increasing coping skills, sleep hygiene and weight loss. Both individual and group programs are available.

Pain Management Services

Assist the Veteran in learning techniques to manage pain more effectively and cope with chronic pain in order to improve functioning and quality of life. Treatment may include learning to balance and pace activities, exercise to improve strength and energy, stress management and relaxation, healthy sleep and nutrition habits, coping with negative emotions and practicing positive thinking. Both individual and group programming are available.

Neuropsychology Services

Include cognitive testing and evaluation of memory, attention, thinking speed and other cognitive concerns. Conditions assessed may include cognitive complaints related to dementia, traumatic brain injury, other medical conditions and psychiatric concerns such as depression, anxiety and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.

Geriatric Psychology and Home-based Primary Care Services

Available for older Veterans with complex medical, social and behavioral conditions. Learn more about Home-Based Primary Care Services.
