Fort Leonard Wood VA Clinic: Expanding Access for Rural Veterans
Did you know the VA clinic located Fort Leonard Wood is moving? Truman VA opened this clinic in 1998 to provide primary care services to Veterans living near the Fort Leonard Wood area. It is the oldest of Truman VA’s seven outpatient clinics.
This clinic is moving off the post at Fort Leonard Wood to Waynesville, Mo. later this fall. You may have noticed the construction site north of Interstate 44 near Waynesville High School. The new space will be much larger, which will allow for an expansion of services to Veterans living in the area.
- Additional space: The current Fort Leonard Wood clinic has 2030 square feet and shares a waiting area with the General Leonard Wood Army and Community Hospital. The Waynesville location will include 9999 square feet.
- Additional services: The Fort Leonard Wood Clinic offers primary care and behavioral health services. The relocated clinic will offer an expansion of services to include physical therapy and audiology.
Also, the replacement clinic will feature modern examination rooms, modern finishes and improved handicap accessibility. We are very excited about this relocation.
